FIAT is entering a new phase in its global SUV journey and India already had an early glimpse through camouflaged test mules spotted in Bengaluru. Now, on its 127th anniversary on 11 July 2026, the Italian brand officially unveiled the all-new Grizzly SUV and Grizzly Fastback Coupe SUV with petrol, 48V hybrid, and 44kWh EV powertrains, upto 145hp, a 600-litre boot, and Stellantis’ Smart Car platform. Everything to set stage for an October Paris debut while keeping India launch plans under wraps.
Global Debut & India Status
Well, the model is first spotted testing in on Bengaluru roads in mid-2026, then FIAT Grizzly SUV and Grizzly Fastback coupe-SUV officially unveil on 11 July 2026 as of brand’s 127th anniversary. The duo will make its officially debut at 2026 Paris Motor Show (12 – 18 October), follow by European, Middle East, and Africa launches in Q4 2026 while 2027 expansion targets the UK and Latin America. After Bengaluru test sightings in 2026, FIAT continues evaluating India but no launch timeline is officially confirm.
Bold Design with Practical Dimensions
Coming to outlook and size, as both models are built on Stellantis’ Smart Car platform, the FIAT Grizzly SUV and Grizzly Fastback share a rugged design language but with distinct personalities. The standard SUV measures 4.40 metres while the sportier Fastback extends to 4.50 metres. Both feature a gloss-black full-width grille with a matrix LED lighting signature, bold wheel arches, protective body cladding, upto 17-inch alloy wheels and seven vibrant exterior colour options.
Petrol, Hybrid, & EV Powertrains
FIAT will offer the Grizzly family with three powertrain options depending on the market. The lineup starts with a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbo-petrol producing 100hp and paired with a 6-speed manual and then comes the 48V mild-hybrid combines the same engine with an integrated electric motor to deliver upto 145hp paring a 6-speed e-DCT automatic, with manual and automatic options available across global markets.
The last one is electric version packs an 83kW (113hp) front-mounted motor and a 44kWh LFP battery, offering a 320km WLTP-certified range. This model can sprint from 0 to 100km/h in around 11 seconds, reaches a 135km/h top speed, and supports 100kW DC fast charging, replenishing the battery from 20% to 80% in about 30 minutes, while the hybrid system enables short-distance electric driving in city traffic for improved fuel efficiency.
Family Focus Cabin and Smart Features
When come to inside features, the FIAT prioritised everyday practicality with a clean dashboard featuring a 10-inch landscape touchscreen, 7-inch digital instrument cluster, and physical climate controls. The cabin also gets a dedicated smartphone shelf, hidden storage tray, handbag hook, dual-tone upholstery, and signature “MADE WITH LOVE” seat detailing while the Fastback offers a generous 600-litre luggage compartment.
Suspension & Safety Package
As FIAT claims both model made for diverse road conditions, the Grizzly uses MacPherson strut front suspension and a reinforced torsion beam rear setup, with calibration influenced by testing in India and South America. Safety parts includes six airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Hill Start Assist, TPMS, rear parking sensors, and a reversing camera backed by Stellantis’ high-strength Smart Car architecture.
Price Range & Competition
Well, the FIAT yet to confirm official pricing, but inside sources claims that the Grizzly SUV is going to price between €20,000 – €22,000 (around ₹20 – ₹22 lakh) while the Grizzly Fastback expected to cost €22,000 – €24,000 (around ₹22-24 lakh). Globally, these modle going to compete with the Dacia Bigster, Renault Symbioz, Opel Frontera, and Citroën C3 Aircross. And if launch in India they have strong rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Honda Elevate, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and Tata Sierra.
