Hyundai launches Creta EV BaaS Model on 2 July 2026 with new starting Price to ₹10.99 lakh, ₹3.9/km battery subscription, 7.4 kW wall-box charger, & integrated side foot step.
On 2 July 2026, Hyundai Motor India introduces the new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for the Hyundai Creta EV. The new Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model reduces the Hyundai Creta EV’s starting price by ₹7.04 lakh which bring it down to ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
With battery usage billed from ₹3.9 per kilometre instead of an upfront battery purchase. Hyundai also updates the Creta EV with an integrated side foot step for easier entry and exit. This move aims to make electric SUV ownership more affordable while adding fresh value through practical ownership benefits and feature updates.

When & Who Announce?
The Hyundai Creta Electric was originally launch on 17 January 2025 at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. And now, on 2 July 2026, the Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) officially introduces the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model through a corporate announcement which is led by Tarun Garg, Managing Director & CEO of HMIL.
This reduces the SUV’s starting price to ₹10.99 lakh. The rollout began on 3 July 2026 with Hyundai dealerships across India updating their systems to offer the new battery subscription program to customers.

Instead of paying the full battery cost while purchasing the vehicle, customers can now buy the Creta EV at a significantly lower upfront price and subscribe to the battery separately.
This new ownership option is design to reduce biggest barrier to EV adoption, high initial purchase cost. Under the new pricing structure, the 42 kWh Executive variant is now available in ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) compare to its earlier price of ₹18.03 lakh and translating into an upfront saving of ₹7.04 lakh.
Hyundai says the battery subscription starts from ₹3.9 per kilometre that make the electric SUV more accessible to first-time EV buyers and customers looking for lower initial investment.
New Hyundai Creta EV BaaS Price Details
Well, the Hyundai is currently introduces the Battery-as-a-Service option for the 42 kWh Executive variant. Buyers opting for the BaaS model pay ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the vehicle while the battery cost is cover through a usage-based subscription starting from ₹3.9 per kilometre. The new pricing strategy will also strengthen Hyundai’s position against upcoming strong rival i.e. Tata Sierra EV.
So, customers who prefer complete ownership can still purchase the SUV with the battery included at the standard ex-showroom price of ₹18.03 lakh. The difference of ₹7.04 lakh represents the battery cost that is shifted from the purchase price to the subscription model.
How Hyundai’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) Works?
Many buyers are still confuse how this BaaS really works, the BaaS model separates the battery from the vehicle purchase which allows customers to finance only the battery through a long-term repayment structure instead of paying for it upfront. This approach lowers the vehicle’s purchase price while spreading battery expenses over the ownership period.
Hyundai estimates the subscription rate of ₹3.9 per kilometre based on financing 90% of the battery value at an 8.75% interest rate over an 8-year tenure, assuming an average monthly usage of around 2,330 kilometres. Actual costs may vary depending on financing terms and driving patterns.
Battery, Range, Charging, & Performance
Well, the Hyundai Creta EV continues with two battery pack options. The entry-level 42 kWh battery delivers 135 PS and 200 Nm of torque while offering a claimed driving range of 420 km. Buyers seeking longer range can choose the 51.4 kWh battery that produces 171 PS and the same 200 Nm torque with a claimed range of 510 km.
Both versions use a single front-mounted electric motor driving the front wheels. Hyundai claims the larger battery variant can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in around 7.9 seconds that make it one of the quicker electric SUVs in its segment.
No difference in charging which remains one of the Creta EV’s strong points. The SUV supports 100 kW DC fast charging that allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes under suitable conditions.
As part of the latest 2 July 2026 update, Hyundai now provides a 7.4 kW wall-box home charger with Home Charging variants, replacing the earlier lower-capacity unit. This upgrade reduces charging time at home and offers greater convenience for everyday EV users.
Features & Technology
Well, the Creta EV continues to offer a premium feature package with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Digital Key, connected car technology, and dual-zone climate control. Hyundai also adds ventilated powered front seats, panoramic sunroof, Bose 8-speaker audio system, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, and multiple drive modes.

The Hyundai Creta EV features a MacPherson strut front suspension and a rear coupled torsion beam axle that offers a comfortable ride with stable handling on city roads and highways. When comes to safety ensured with six airbags, Level 2 ADAS, ESC, TPMS, Hill Hold Assist, Electronic Parking Brake, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera, and front and rear parking sensors.
