Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel launching soon by 2026 with Petrol to Ethanol (E20-E80) Flexibility, More smooth, decent mileage, and pricing under ₹13.14 lakh.
At Japan Mobility Show 2025, the Maruti Suzuki already announce that the Fronx is coming with Flex Fuel that will contain petrol & ethanol. And now we are heading near to the timeline which means Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel Launch is at the doors now.
Currently, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are only going for cars production on the basis Fronx Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) concept. And the most close is Maruti Fronx Flex Fuel Car 2026.
The Fronx 1.2L K-Series Dual Jet Petrol Variants are upgraded to use Ethanol Fuel from 20% to 80%. Get to know what else is upgrading with fuel like new mileage, design, etc.

Maruti Fronx Flex Fuel Engine Mileage
The vert first thing upgrading in Maruti Fronx is engine. As we know that the 1.2L K-Series Dual Jet is naturally aspirated, simpler, lower pressure, and Maruti already used this for CNG/flex-fuel concept. So, you will see Maruti Fronx Flex Fuel upgrade in with 1.2L K-Series Engine Only.
Maruti will be upgrade Fronx Flex Fuel by adding 1.2L (1197 cc) K-Series Dual Jet 4-cylinder inline with ethanol-resistant fuel lines, upgraded injectors, corrosion-proof seals, ECU remapping, fuel composition sensing, and cold-start calibration to safely support fuels from petrol up to E85 (85% ethanol) and has same 5 MT/AMT transmission setup.

This complete New Fronx Flex Fuel Engine Setup will offer same power as like current version 89 PS power and 113 Nm torque. But in flex-fuel version, the Fronx mileage will drop as ethanol gives less energy than petrol (34 MJ/L vs 24 MJ/L). So, after flex-fuel the expected mileage is about 21-23 km/l on petrol, 17-19 km/l on E20, and 11-17 km/l on E85. And this, E85 burns cleaner and runs smoother but uses more fuel.
Fronx Flex Fuel Design & Size Upgrades
Well, there will be no changes in Design & Size. That means you will see Maruti Fronx Flex Fuel comes with same bold stylish compact coupe SUV inspired design that has NEXWave grille and NEXTre’ Crystal Block LED DRLs.
Comes with similar dimensions like 3995 mm length, 1765 mm Width, 1550 mm Height, Wheelbase of 2520 mm, and has 190 mm Ground Clearance with 308 litres boot space. Then what is changing in this new Flex Fuel Designing, well you may see only difference is the addition of bright green “Flex Fuel” decals/stickers on the exterior.
Interior & Tech Features Upgrade
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex-Fuel is likely to remain same as the current Fronx interior features. So, you may see same 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, HUD, ARKAMYS audio, wireless charging, and Suzuki Connect.
And the most likely to upgrade is the flex-fuel-specific digital features such as ethanol blend monitoring (E20 – E85), updated range and fuel-efficiency displays, ECU-based fuel alerts, eco-driving analytics, etc. And this means you likely to get same interior and tech features with just few upgrades.
Suspensions, Riding, & Comfort
Coming another factor that gives better comfort and handing i.e. suspensions. This Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex Fuel likely to continue with MacPherson strut front suspension, torsion beam rear suspension, coil springs, 190 mm ground clearance, 195/60 R16 tyres, and a 2520 mm wheelbase. And this completely setup likely to give better handling, smooth performance with ethanol, and decent riding on almost ever road conditions.
Safety Features
When come to safety you will see almost same safety features like 6 airbags, ESP, Hill Hold Assist, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, and built on same HEARTECT platform. But you may safety upgrade as per ethanol setup like ethanol leak detection, fuel composition monitoring, flex-fuel system diagnostics, and dashboard alerts for fuel compatibility. And all these gives extra safety for ethanol operation rather than major crash-safety hardware changes.
Launch & Pricing
Well, the model is already reveal at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. Currently, the Maruti Suzuki is testing it Fronx Flex Fuel setup with E20 to E85 compatibility. But most likely to launch in 2026. With this, you may also see Maruti’s other Flex Fuel cars like Wagon R Flex Fuel, etc.
Maruti Suzuki is known for giving most affordable cars and this Fronx Flex Fuel also comes in decent pricing. Currently, the model petrol version lies between ₹6.85 to ₹9.89 lakh in ex-shroom. And now with Flex Fuel upgrade, the model likely price between ₹7.51 to ₹13.14 lakh.
The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Flex-Fuel looks a practical eco-friendly alternative for buyers who want cleaner fuel compatibility without sacrificing familiar comfort, safety, or drivability. And the biggest advantage is petrol to E85 flexibility which make it more smooth. But this also become disadvantage as it gives lower ethanol mileage and limited fuel availability which will make buyers to choose CNG or strong hybrid options over this Fronx Flex Fuel.
