The teaser points towards the Syros EV already confirm and the Sorento Hybrid emerging as the strongest contender. Kia appears ready to accelerate its electrification strategy while building on its record breaking 24,552 units June 2026 sales as a stronger push into India’s fast-growing electric and hybrid vehicle market.

Kia Syros EV Update

Kia Syros EV is the only electrified model officially confirm by Kia India and is set to make its debut in July 2026. It will become the company’s fourth electric vehicle after the EV6, EV9 and Carens Clavis EV. The electric SUV retains the boxy styling of the standard Syros while adding EV-specific updates, including a closed front grille, vertical LED lighting, aerodynamic alloy wheels, EV badging and a front-mounted charging port.

The electric SUV also expected to support DC fast charging, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) functions while delivering an estimated driving range of 350 km to 400 km on a full charge.

Safety likely to remain one of the Syros EV’s biggest strengths with Level 2 ADAS, 16 advanced driver assistance features, six airbags, Electronic Stability Program, Hill Start Assist, a 360-degree camera and a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating for the Syros platform. Expected pricing between ₹14 lakh to ₹20 lakh (ex-showroom) will position it against the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, and Tata Punch EV.

Kia Sorento Hybrid

Kia Sorento Hybrid is widely believed to be the hybrid model teased by Kia India, although the company has not officially confirm its name. Spotted testing several times on Indian roads, the premium three-row SUV expected to become Kia’s flagship offering, positioned above the Seltos. Measuring 4,815 mm in length with a 2,815 mm wheelbase, it promises generous cabin space and family-focused practicality.

Kia Sorento Hybrid

Globally, the Sorento Hybrid combines a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver 227-238 hp and up to 350 Nm of torque through a 6-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can choose between FWD and AWD versions overseas while the hybrid setup delivers an impressive 37 MPG fuel economy and a driving range exceeding 950 km on a full tank.

The cabin expected to feature dual 12.3-inch curved displays, Kia Connect with OTA updates, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bose premium audio, panoramic sunroof, powered and ventilated front seats, head-up display, digital rear-view mirror, ambient lighting, wireless charging and both 6-seat and 7-seat configurations for added flexibility.

On the safety front, the Sorento Hybrid expected to offer Level 2 ADAS, seven airbags including a front-centre airbag, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control, a 360-degree camera and front-rear parking sensors. If launch in India during late 2026, the premium SUV expected to be priced between ₹35 lakh to ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom) which directly compete with the Skoda Kodiaq RS, Jeep Meridian, Toyota Fortuner, and Volkswagen Tayron.

Kia Riding On Record 2026 Sales Momentum

The teaser arrives as Kia India continues its strongest sales run. The company dispatched 24,552 units in June 2026, registering a 19% year-on-year growth while also recording its highest-ever first-half (H1 2026) sales. Popular models like the Sonet, Seltos, and Carens Clavis driven this growth, encouraging Kia to expand its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) portfolio with both hybrid and electric models.

Kia is making the right move at the right time. By balancing an accessible electric SUV with a premium hybrid flagship, the brand is addressing two key gaps in its Indian portfolio. While the Kia Syros EV already looks ready to make an impact, the Kia Sorento Hybrid‘s success will ultimately hinge on competitive pricing and localisation. And now the Kia’s electrification strategy now looks far more convincing than ever before.
