Jaguar Land Rover just reveal a biggest update for its upcoming baby Defender which is likely to debut in 2027. The compact SUV likely called Defender Sport will come with both hybrid and fully electric powertrains on the New EMA platform. With over 4.5 metres long, it promises modern technology, strong off-road ability, and the iconic Defender character.
What Really Confirm?
Well, one of the biggest confirm highlights of baby Defender is JLR’s New Electrified Modular Architecture (EMA) platform. Initially develop for electric vehicles, the EMA architecture is now upgraded to support both Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) powertrains. The same platform also expected to underpin future generations of the Range Rover Evoque and Velar that make it a key part of JLR’s next-generation vehicle strategy.
