Toyota is preparing one of its biggest product upgrades for the Indian market with the Innova Hycross facelift and the all-new Fortuner already undergoing road tests ahead of their expected 2026 and early 2027 launches. From bolder exterior designs and feature-rich interiors to improved hybrid technology, the new 48V Neo Drive diesel system, and the expected arrival of ADAS. These next-generation Toyota SUVs and MPVs promise hints leap in style, comfort, efficiency, and safety.
Launch & Pricing Update
Well, the Toyota to introduces two of its biggest updates in India over the next two years. The Toyota Innova Hycross facelift expected to arrive between mid-2026 and early 2027, with prices likely to range from ₹20 lakh to ₹33 lakh (ex-showroom). And on other hand, the next-generation Fortuner expected to debut in Q1 2027 with an estimated price bracket of ₹35 to ₹55 lakh (ex-showroom). Both models already spotted testing multiple times hints that development is progressing steadily.
Fresh Design For Both Models
Coming to another looks, the Toyota is giving both its flagship models a noticeable styling refresh. The Innova Hycross facelift expected to receive a larger upright grille, redesigned bumper, slimmer LED projector headlamps, updated LED DRLs, revised tail lamps, and new alloy wheels.
On the other hand, the next-generation Fortuner will undergo a much bigger transformation with a boxier body, flatter bonnet, wider grille, split LED headlamps, slim daytime running lights, redesigned bumper, and Hilux-inspired styling that gives the SUV a tougher and more premium road presence.
Engine, Hybrid System, & Transmission
Toyota expected to retain the proven engines in both models. The Innova Hycross will continue with a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 173 bhp and 209 Nm, alongside a 2.0-litre strong-hybrid delivering 183 bhp through an e-CVT, with claimed fuel efficiency of around 21.1 km/l. Transmission options also likely to remain familiar. The Hycross petrol will use a CVT automatic while the strong-hybrid will continue with an e-CVT driving the front wheels.
And the Fortuner will retain its 2.8-litre diesel with the new 48V Neo Drive mild-hybrid system, producing around 201 bhp and 500 Nm, while the 2.7-litre petrol generating 164 bhp and 245 Nm is also expected to continue. The Fortuner likely to offer both 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, with 2WD and 4WD configurations that ensures it remains equally capable for city driving and off-road adventures.
Interior Cabin & Tech Features Upgrade
Well, the Innova Hycross facelift expected to retain its familiar dashboard with new upholstery, refreshed trims, better insulation, and improved cabin quality. The next-generation Fortuner is likely to get a completely redesign dashboard with premium materials. Both models expected to offer ventilated front seats, powered seats, automatic climate control, wireless charging, panoramic sunroof, premium audio, and enhanced overall comfort on higher variants.
And when comes tech upgrade, the Hycross likely to continue with its 10.1-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, a 9-speaker JBL audio system, and a 360-degree camera. The Fortuner expected to feature a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a fully digital instrument cluster, OTA updates, wireless connectivity, ambient lighting, and a more advanced infotainment interface.
Safety Features
When comes to safety features? it remains the Toyota’s biggest strengths. The Innova Hycross facelift expected to continue offering six airbags, Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with EBD, TPMS, traction control, hill-start assist, and a 360-degree camera. And the next-generation Fortuner likely to take a significant leap by introducing Level 2 ADAS, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, along with multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and improved crash protection.
