Tata Avinya begins Indian road testing, teasing futuristic design, next-gen EV technology, 65 – 90 kWh battery pack, 500 – 600 km range, and most likely to arrive by 2027.
Tata official unveil Avinya Concept in April 2022 and now after three years, Tata Motors finally begun public road testing of its upcoming flagship EV in India. Recently, the heavily camouflaged production-spec test mule spotted near Pune, Maharashtra which is now mark as key milestone in its development. And the latest sighting suggests the Avinya enter advanced validation testing ahead of its expected market debut in 2027.
What Spy Shots Reveals?
Well, the latest spy shots confirm that the Tata Avinya enters into an advanced stage of road testing with the heavily camouflaged. Despite the full-body camouflage, several design elements are now clearly visible which hints the Tata Motors is testing a near-production prototype.

At the front, the prototype features a closed-off EV fascia along with vertically position LED lighting units integrated into the bumper while the main headlamp setup remains hidden beneath the camouflage. The side profile highlights a long wheelbase, short front overhang, sloping coupe-style roofline, flush-fitting door handles, and large multi-spoke aerodynamic alloy wheels, all of which contribute to its premium appearance.
The test mule also uses conventional outside rear-view mirrors (ORVMs) instead of the camera-based units seen on the original Avinya Concept that suggests a more production-friendly approach. Towards the rear, temporary lighting units, a prominent roof-mounted spoiler and a wide tailgate design can be spotted, although the final LED light signature remains concealed.

In complete, the latest prototype closely reflects Tata’s premium EV vision while confirming that the Avinya is progressing steadily through its final validation and durability testing phase before its most likely launch. This model likely to price between ₹35 to ₹45 lakh (ex-showroom).
Most Likely Testing Suggests
At this stage, engineers evaluate suspension, steering, braking, ride quality, battery cooling, powertrain calibration, and overall durability across highways, city roads and varying weather conditions to ensure production readiness. Although official specifications remain under wraps, the Tata Avinya likely to feature a 65-90 kWh battery pack.

If this powertrains comes that most expected claimed driving range will be 500-600 Km. This Avinya also likely to adopt an 800V electrical architecture, support ultra-fast DC charging, offer Level 2 ADAS, OTA updates, V2L technology and a premium connected cabin built on Tata’s next-generation EV platform.
