JSW & Chery ready to shake India’s electric SUV space by launching of iCar V23 under ₹21 lakh with off-road design, 500+ km range, ADAS Safety, etc. features.
Another electric SUV is coming on Indian roads with bold boxy design, off road capability, and better range. The two big brands the JSW Motors and China’s Chery Automobile have collab to bring New JSW Chery iCar V23 Electric SUV. Globally, the iCar V23 model is known for its boxy off-road design, AWD option, and 510 km excellent range.
In India, the JSW Chery iCar V23 is locally assemble at JSW’s Maharashtra Plant. This model will compete with Thar EV or Tata Curvv EV which means model will carry off-road DNA, striking design and fresh new identity that too within price range under ₹21 lakh.
Launch & Price
With multiple sources report, the model is currently under development and the JSW Chery iCar V23 will be ready by late 2026 or early 2027. However, major production will start in August 2026 at JSW Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Maharashtra Plant. With this production you may see delay in arrival of model with some media reports suggesting till 2028 launch.
When come to price, the JSW Chery iCar V23 will compete with Thar EV or Tata Curvv EV and to stay competitive, the model is likely to place between ₹17 to ₹21 lakh. The impact on price is due to locally assembled at JSW Motors Maharashtra.
Engine & Performance
This JSW Chery iCar V23 Electric SUV available in 59.93kWh (LFP pair with rear-mounted motor & 81.76kWh (NMC battery) pair with dual motor setup options at global level that too with RWD single motor and AWD dual motor configurations. But in India there is twist, the model likely to have variants 47.28 kWh, 59.93 kWh, & 69.8 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) batteries and 81.76 kWh Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries.
Now coming to performance, the EVs are known for silent driving but this model have range upto 510 km which is decent in city and highways. And likely to have same 104 kW DC fast charging. With good range, you may reach upto 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and you can run it at top speed of 140km/h.
